Peek-A-Boo Children’s Birthday Card

Hello Everyone, here is a children’s birthday card I made in response to two Splitcoaststampers.com challenges. It had to be Clean and Simple with a “Peek-A-Boo” theme and the Stampin Up! colours “Garden Green”, “Pumpkin Pie”, “Crushed Curry”, and “Cherry Cobbler”. The image is from Whimsy Stamps called “Autumn Happiness” and was stamped on Pure Luxury 120lb White by Gina K. Designs using Memento “Tuxedo Black” ink pad. It was finished with some Black and White string I found at Michaels.

Here is a list of the Copics used on what parts of the stamp:

DRAGON: Body – V01 Heath, V05 Marigold, V06 Lavender, V09 Violet, Scales – YG0000 Lily White, YG03 Yellow Green, YG25 Celadon Green, Belly – Y0000 Yellow Fluorite, Y11 Pale Yellow, Y15 Cadmium Yellow, Tongue RV04 Shock Pink, Inner Ear RV13 Tender Pink

LEAVES: Small – YR20 Yellowish Shade, YR24 Pale Sepia, Bulk – YG95 Pale Olive, YG97 Spanish Olive, Large – YR12 Loquat, YR15 Pumpkin Yellow, YR18 Sanguine / E13 Light Suntan, E08 Brown, E19 Redwood

BERRIES: R37 Carmine, W1 Warm Gray No.1, W3 Warm Gray No.3

Tip of the Day: Don’t let the fear of not doing something great the first time deter you from trying it. Ironically colouring (something most of us have done since childhood) takes some practice when using new mediums such as Copics. Personally I’ve used them 3 times in the past 5 years. As you will see in the close up pick I need a lot more practice lol! But I let the thought of not being good at using them straight away deter me from practicing with them as needs to happen before you get good at using them. So if there is a new medium or technique you want to try just go for it. If it takes you a year to master it – do it. The year will go by either way ;0)
