Happy Easter Egg Card

Hello Everyone, today I am showing you 2 Easter projects I made for my recent Eyelet Outlet schedule. The first is an egg shaped card. I sketched the egg on a folded piece of Pretty in Pink paper and then inked the cut out shape with Pretty in Pink ink, both by Stampin Up! Then stamped in the same ink the larger image of Tim Holt’s – Stampers Anonymous set “Fabulous Flourishes”. I then added a piece of Cream Swirl Bling . The White Paper Flowers were next and I added the Pink Enamel Dots but I wanted the flower centers to really stand out and this is one of the great things about these products – the mix and matching capabilities! I love how the centers turned out once I added the Green Pearl Strips . For the bows I added 3/8″ white double sided satin ribbon tied with black wired string and some very old Close to my Heart “Sassy Strands – Summer Collection”. I used my Stampin Up! Black Embossing Powder for the sentiment from their beautiful “Easter Blossoms” set and their Embosslits “Beautiful Wings” die for the butterflies. Inked the butterflies with “Certainly Celery” & “Pretty in Pink” inks from Stampin Up! And then I felt they needed a little something more so I brushed them with my “Wink of Stella – Clear” pen and added some more of the Eyelet Outlet Pearls.

For my second project I made an Easter Basket and wanted to literally weave the paper so I cut out a pile of strips (I didn’t measure any of them), and then inked them with Tim Holtz Distress Inks “Tea Dye”, “Vintage Photo”, and “Walnut Stain”. On the larger pieces I used all three inks, on the skinnier pieces layered on top I used “Tea Dye” & “Vintage Photo”. When I made the handle and rim I halved the strips and on one half used “Tea Dye/Vintage Photo” and on the other “Vintage Photo/Walnut Stain”. For the Easter eggs I used stamps from Stampin Up! “Easter Blossoms”, “Boho Background”, Designs by Ryn “Sea Bubbles”, “Textures – Circle Cluster” and Prima-Finnabair’s “Triangles” stamp. I inked them with Stampin Up! “Tempting Turquoise “, “Garden Green”, “YoYo Yellow”, “Certainly Celery”, “Pink Passion”, “Lavender Lace”, and “Only Orange” and then used my Jewel Bling Strips , Green Enamel Dots , Orange Fan Washi Tape , Glitter Flower Washi Tape ; “Yellow”, “Neon Flamingo”, and “Orange Peel Stickles to decorate them.  The bow is Stampin Up! “Regal Rose” Grosgrain Ribbon and twine was used to hold the tag. The tag is cut from Stampin Up’s “Decorative Label” punch and I used their black Embossing powder for the sentiment from their “Easter Blossoms” stamp set. The background paper is Prima “Strawberry Kisses Collection” and I used it for the grass as well. The little flowers are stamped from the Whimsy Stamps “Amy”. I wanted to draw the bright colors of the eggs to the bottom of my card so I added my Bright Butterflies Brads .

Later today I will upload the video tutorials to my Youtube channel, thanks for visiting and have a safe and creative day :0)

A Note of Encouragement

Hello Everyone, today I made a clean & simple card in response to a Splitcoaststamper challenge called “Think Spring”. I think everyone is getting tired of Winter because I’ve seen a lot of Spring projects floating around lately lol! This Stampin Up Blossom set is much taller than they appear on my card, they’re approximately 6″ in length and have a young bud on one end and a full blossom on the other. I chose to use this set the way I did to match the sentiment I used. That’s why the blossoms are smaller than the butterfly right now. At this point they are just starting to grow. And like our journey towards our dreams we have to remind ourselves sometimes that we need time to grow. We all have dreams and if we nurture them, care for them and focus on them, they will come in to full bloom, but let’s not forget that along that path it’s not only our dreams that are growing and we too need nurturing, care and focus ;0)

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful, safe and creative day :0)
