“Learn From Yesterday…” & “Nature’s Coloring” Cards

Hello All,

Today I’m sharing two cards made for another Splitcoaststampers ┬áchallenge. This is the first of two cards I made for Kathy’s CAS “Winged Things” challenge. As soon as I read it I had 2 very different ideas so I decided to make both ;O) So they had to be clean and simple and have some of our favorite winged things. For me butterflies are one of my favorite creatures on earth that have wings. They are so beautiful and yet both ideas I had, had the butterflies colorless! So for the first card I used dry embossing and my Wink of Stella clear pen to dress them up and then added a touch of the green jewels for added embellishment.

Products Used:

Stampin Up! Basic Black Cardstock, & Ribbon, Black Embossing Powder, “Sense of Time” Stamp Set, “Beautiful Wings” Embosslits,

BoBunny “Little Miss Jewels”, White Cardstock, Versamark, Tattered Lace Spellbinders Die, Wink of Stella Clear Pen,

Products Used:

SU! “Fifth Avenue Floral”, Inkadinkaclings “Butterflies Cling”, Designs By Ryn “Raindrops” Stamp Sets. Versa mark Pad, SU! Black Embossing Powder, Gellyroll White Gel Pen, Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Salty Ocean, Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Mowed Lawn

For the second card I wanted to show how nature “got it’s color”. I stamped my ink pads on my Tim Holtz craft sheet and with a wet paint brush I colored the rain drops. Then added some touches of white here and there with my gel pen.

I popped up the butterfly with pop-up squares

Have a great, safe and creative week everyone :O)

  1. I love the butterflies on your first card, but that second card? Wow! The effect of those colored raindrops on the black and white background is just stunning!
