Happy Butterflies 2

Happy Butterflies!

Hello Everyone,

I’m back today with a pair of cards I made at the “Make ‘n Take” I went to at a local craft store called Scrapendipity. It was my first time at a “Make ‘n Take” and I had a great time, Holly our instructor showed us how to make these super fun style cards using some of her dies, a punch and her scrap paper. So unfortunately I have no details on what was used. I can tell you that the butterfly punch had 3 different style butterfly cuts on it which I thought was brilliant! As for the die, they looked like Spellbinders Nestabilities.

This style was so much fun to make that I’m looking forward to using it on Halloween and Christmas themed cards!

I hope you enjoyed todays project and that it’s inspired you to create something of your own.

Have a safe and creative day Everyone :O)

Eyelet Outlet Thursday! Merry Christmas in July!!!

Happy Eyelet Outlet Thursday Everyone!!!

So some of the Ladies on our Design Team have been creating a “Christmas In July” theme on Saturdays and because of my new job and crazy hours I haven’t had the time to make anything extra but I couldn’t resist Christmas any longer so I’m back today with a little Christmas in July of my own.

For my first card I wanted a bright colored candy style. Because of this I was finally able to use one of my favorite sheets of design paper that I have had for quite some time. I found it at a garage sale and was excited to use it.  I folded the dp back and pinned it with one of my red peppermint brads. After placing the brads in the 4 corners I wanted to add a border of strips to draw everything together and what better way to add a quick border than Washi Tape!

For my second card I decided on a grunge look for my stocking so I distressed the heck out of the paper, inked the edges heavily and then decided to add a little sparkle so I hand sewed with some glitter thread my Mom bought for me and added it to the tag. The pack she gave me had multiple colors, so I added the red to match the sock and the gold thread to match the flecks of gold in the enamel dots.

For my third and final card I created something bright and cheery, something that a kid might appreciate. The borders, sentiment and tag are all stickers from a very old set that I believe came from Stampin Up! I used a pop-up square for the tag to give it extra dimension and used the glitter thread again.

I used my SU! markers to color the matte enamel dots on the circles and then added some extra color to the Green Pearl Bling Strips on the present.

Well I hope you enjoyed todays project and that it’s encouraged you to create something of your own.

Eyelet Outlet Thursday! The Sweetest Day!

Hello Everyone,

Today I’m back today with a fun project for birthday cards! I wanted to create the cards with a look that resembled something from a candy shop, so I made 2 different looking cards but used the same embellishments and paper pack.
For the first card I arranged the design paper and Light Purple Washi Tape to look like a window front. These awesome Peppermint Candy Brads were the perfect items for the “Candy Shop window”.

I inked the edges of the “window covering”.

For the second card I decided to go with a different color scheme but used the same design paper pack, jewel bling and brads. I inked the edges of the dp and white card stock.

For this card I choose the Glitter Brown Washi Tape to accent the edges and popped up the design paper borders with pop up squares.

Well I hope you’ve enjoyed todays project and that it’s inspired you to create something of your own.

Eyelet Outlet Thursday! Friends Always…

Happy Eyelet Outlet Thursday Everyone!

Today I’m back with a vintage style card inspired by lasting friendships and adorable fawns!! I’ve wanted to use these Fawn Brads since I first saw them but I couldn’t think of how to use them until I decided to make this friendship card and then I realized the fact that they face each other was a perfect pose for this card! I distressed the paper with my Tim Holtz distress tool and hand sewed the edges.

I used some of EO’s  White Paper Flowers layered up with my own creative flower center and brushed them with some ink to blend in with the card. For the center I combined EO’s 8mm Spring Brad Mix with the Green Pearl Bling Strips and because the card has a vintage look to it, I sanded the brad & pearl bling until they were dull:

I also distressed the word and sentiment cut outs, wrinkled the words before I glued one side down and used pop up squares for the sentiment. I added the Brown Pearl Bling in place of some of the berries (I just can’t get enough of EO’s pearl bling strips!), to add some extra flare:

For the inside I had to use more of the Fawns because their just to darn cute!!

Well I hope you enjoyed todays project and that it’s inspired you to create something of your own.

Thanks for stopping by and have a safe and creative day Everyone!
