A Note of Encouragement

Hello Everyone, today I made a clean & simple card in response to a Splitcoaststamper challenge called “Think Spring”. I think everyone is getting tired of Winter because I’ve seen a lot of Spring projects floating around lately lol! This Stampin Up Blossom set is much taller than they appear on my card, they’re approximately 6″ in length and have a young bud on one end and a full blossom on the other. I chose to use this set the way I did to match the sentiment I used. That’s why the blossoms are smaller than the butterfly right now. At this point they are just starting to grow. And like our journey towards our dreams we have to remind ourselves sometimes that we need time to grow. We all have dreams and if we nurture them, care for them and focus on them, they will come in to full bloom, but let’s not forget that along that path it’s not only our dreams that are growing and we too need nurturing, care and focus ;0)

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful, safe and creative day :0)

“A Friendly Hello”

Hello Everyone, today I’m sharing a card I made for 2 Splitcoaststampers challenges. The first was  a Color Combo challenge and the second was called ‘In The Garden’ and had to be focused on what you would find in the garden. I immediately thought of several Cottage Cutz dies I own and hadn’t used yet. When I was a little girl my grandparents had a small bridge in the backyard over their duck pond that led up a small hill to the chicken coop and their next door  neighbor had a  well that I always called a wishing well so I thought these dies would be perfect for the challenges! Here is the list of supplies I used for this card:

Paper: Stampin Up’s ‘Melon Mambo’, ‘Old Olive’, ‘Soft Sky’, ‘Early Espresso’, ‘YoYo Yellow’ cardstock.
White cardstock

Dies: Cottage Cutz’s ‘Garden Bridge’, ‘Garden Wishing Well’, ‘Victorian Birdbath’.
Stampin Up’s Embosslits ‘Beautiful Wings’
Spellbinder’s ‘Large Circles’ & ‘Scalloped Circles’

Stamps: Stampin Up’s ‘Curvy Versus’ & ‘French Script’ Block
Whimsey Stamps ‘Amy’

Ink: Stampin Up’s ‘Early Espresso’, ‘Old Olive’, ‘Chocolate Chip’, ‘Sahara Sand’, ‘River Rock’, ‘Basic Gray’, ‘Crumb Cake’, ‘Melon Mambo’, ‘Bashful Blue’, ‘YoYo Yellow’.

Other Supplies: Versamark pad, Stampin Up Black Embossing Powder, Ranger Liquid Pearls ‘Bisque’.

“A Sweet Wish” Birthday Card

Hello All, today I’m sharing with you a simple card made for a Splitcoaststampers CAS challenge called “I Love Chocolate” and what better way to showcase chocolate than a yummy looking chocolate cake! This card really was simple as I used DCWV’s super cute “The Sweet Stack” Glitter Collection 8″ x 8″ paper pad. I simply cut out the cake image and some of the delicious glittery brown strips then the doily strip. I glued the strips on a sheet of the SU! Pink Pirouette and cut it out then glueing it on a 51/2″ x 51/2″ sheet of the Pink Pirouette I popped up the doily strip then put two pop up strips for the cake image to give a lot of dimension. I used SU! Chocolate Chip ink for the sentiment which is from the SU! “Short and Sweet” set, added some SU! Chocolate Chip ribbon and topped it off with 3 BoBunny “Little Miss” jewels and some Ranger “Diamond” glitter glue on the doily strip.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful & creative day :0)

A Little Thank You

This was a project I submitted for a Splitcoaststampers challenge. It was a “Words Only – Clean & Simple” challenge so I submitted it without the bow to meet the challenge requirements and then added the bow later to meet “my requirements” lol!!

For this project I used a sheet of BoBuuny’s “Little Miss” collection and Stampin Up’s Groovy Guava . The inks are Stampin Up’s “Chocolate Chip”, “Old Olive” & “Calypso Coral”. The embellishments are Kaisercraft’s self-adhesive Pearls and Stampin Up’s Whisper White Ribbon. Both sentiments are from Stampin Up, the front is the “Pursuit of Happiness” set and is embossed with SU! white embossing powder and my Versamark pad; the inside was stamped twice using the “Short & Sweet SU set, it was stamped first with SU “Whisper White Craft ink & then my Versamark pad. The Dies used were Spellbinder’s “Scalloped Circles” and “Circles”.

Tip of the Day: Sometimes challenges are great in pushing you to learn new techniques or even teaching you a thing or to about yourself. This one taught me that I don’t always believe that less is more. Personally I felt the card was missing something when I stuck to the challenge guidelines but instead of ignoring the challenge I completed it, submitted the card and then went back and added the bow I wanted there. Sometimes being rebellious is fun lol!!  ;0P

With the bow added…..
